“The Chew” the ABC Variety Cooking Show

The ABC daytime show, “The Chew” sets off the daily variety show with a delightful group of co-hosts that have lots of fun as they entertain viewers and offer up their favorite dishes in every possible category of food preparation.

Carla Hall, brings her upbeat personality to the program as she “cooks with love.” The owner of Alchemy by Carla Hall, Carla creates sweet “petite bites of love.” On the show, she blends her classic French style cooking with her southern roots twist as she offers traditional favorites that are healthy and well-balanced.

Carla is a native of Nashville, TN and has a degree in Accounting from Howard University. She completed her culinary education at L’Academie de Cuisine in Maryland.  She has served as soux chef and Executive Chef as well as served a stint as instructor of culinary training at her alma mater. Hall currently resides in Washington, DC with her husband Matthew Lyons and stepson, Noah.

Clinton Kelly co-hosts as he has been style host of many TLC series and also boasts several well written and popular books. Since 2005, Kelly has hooked up with Macy’s to do commercials, style seminars, and style consulting. He has appeared as a guest on many popular TV shows like ABC’s “GMA,” “The View,” “The Early Show,” and “Nightline.”

Clinton holds a Bachelor in Business from Boston College and a Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University. He was born in Panama City, Panama and raised in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island. Kelly currently resides in Manhattan or Connecticut.

Co-host Daphne Oz, brings her passion for health and wellness to “The Chew” sharing her personal insights on varied subjects. Daphne authored the best-seller, The Dorm Room Diet, a personally developed plan that helped her lose 30 pounds at school. Her book gained national attention from media outlets such as: Good Morning America; The New York Times; The Wall Street Journal; Teen Vogue and People.

Oz helped found HealthCorps, a non-profit organization that offers educational information to teenagers on nutrition, exercise, and stress management. They operate in over 40 schools nationwide. Daphne and her husband John live in Manhattan.

Mario Batali, chef-oriented co-host,  and partner Joe Bastianich own 17 restaurants in global places like New York, LA, Las Vegas, Connecticut, Newport Beach, and Singapore.  He also hosts many television shows for “Food Network.” Batali frequents the network morning news shows for their spots in food prep segments.

Batali is author to nine cook books and started a foundation in his name to help feed, protect, educate, and empower children. Mario splits his time between New York’s Greenwich Village and Northern Michigan with his wife and two sons.

And, last but certainly not least, popular co-host Michael Symon is well known for his Food Network series, Iron Chef America, as he creates wildly flavored dishes. He loves cooking meats and has a special passion for pork. He owns two restaurants in Cleveland, Oh, and three more in Detroit. Michael has won many awards for his culinary creations and published a book, Michael Symon’s Live to Cook – Recipes and Techniques to Rock Your Kitchen in 2009.

Symon was raised in a Greek and Sicilian family.  He loves tattoos and motorcycles as well as spending time with his wife Liz, and their two dogs.
